摘要 According to the present invention, a meteorological observation system using a vehicle includes a meteorological observation device embedded in the vehicle to periodically detect surrounding meteorological information and photograph a meteorological situation, a vehicle driven by using a radar device sensing front, right, and left sides as a driving support and collision preventing sensor and providing mobility to the embedded meteorological observation device, a meteorological server providing meteorological information to a meteorological observation center by wirelessly collecting the information from the meteorological observation device of the vehicle moving to each area, and the meteorological observation center using information delivered from the meteorological server as statistic data or meteorological observation and forecast data. The present invention realizes a meteorological observation system and a method that perform meteorological observation and forecast by collecting detected information when vehicles driven on roads over the country detect the information. According to the present invention, a radar device of a vehicle control system (AVCS) is used for meteorological observation by realizing the meteorological observation device and the method that estimate the amount of rainfall by using a radar sensor for sensing front or right and left sides. According to the present invention, the meteorological observation system collects and manages the meteorological information measured by the moving vehicle (e.g. the amount of rainfall, humidity, temperature, fog, wind speed, and wind direction) so that vehicles can be actively used as a meteorological observation method and thus a more precise and effective meteorological observation system can be equipped.
