<p>A peristaltic pump head (and a peristaltic pump incorporating the head) comprises a peristaltic rotor assembly 4, a reaction member 6 moveable between a non-operative position and an operative position in which the rotor assembly, when rotating, is adapted periodically to compress a flexible walled conduit 8 against a reaction surface 7 of the reaction member and along the length of the conduit to apply a peristaltic force thereto, and a clamping arrangement 9, 10 for applying a clamping force to said conduit to resist movement thereof resulting from application of the peristaltic force to the conduit. The clamping arrangement comprises first 9 and second 10 clamping elements which each have a respective conduit receiving formation 13 and which come into a co-operative clamping position to juxtapose said conduit receiving formations to define a clamp for the conduit on movement of the reaction member (6) from its inoperative position into its operative position. The first clamping element 9 is removably mounted on the pump head.</p> |
