The controller has a fuel pump (13) pressurizing and discharging fuel, where the pressurized fuel is injected in a storage unit (12). A fuel injector (11) injects the fuel into a diesel engine (10), and a relief valve (18) reduces a fuel pressure by discharging the fuel from the storage unit. A pressure reduction control section reduces the fuel pressure by opening the valve after stopping the engine. A property determining section determines fuel properties based on a reduction amount of the fuel pressure to be detected by the control section in a state in which the valve is opened. |
