The appliance has a mounting element (4) for mounting an electric functional block to a wall, and a cover defining a main plane and forming the front of the appliance. An interface seal (26) is provided between the mounting element and the cover, and a cover fixing unit fixes the cover directly to the mounting element including a buffer element (3). The cover is deformed when attached to the mounting element, where the cover compensates partially, by a progressive reduction of deformation, the aging that takes place in the interface seal.
