The device has a housing (22), sensors (24) and an electronic control unit (21), where the sensors detect vibrations and/or noises of components of a hydrostatic restrictor unit and a positively-moved engine. The electronic control unit is designed in such a manner that rotation speed of the hydrostatic restrictor unit is determined from signals transmitted by the sensor. The housing includes a pot-shaped housing portion (30) and a cover cap (31), which closes the housing portion at an open side. A drive shaft (35) is connected with a cylinder drum (10).
