The present invention relates to a smart cruise control method at a speed bump section and an apparatus thereof. The smart cruise control method at a speed bump section of the present invention includes: a speed bump information calculation step for receiving information about a speed bump through a navigation, and calculating a distance between a vehicle and the speed bump; a speed bump area judgment step for judging that the vehicle enters the speed bump area, in case the distance between the vehicle and the speed bump is calculated to be within an established reference distance; and a vehicle speed control step for calculating a speed difference between the speed of the vehicle and a speed bump safe passing speed which is set to pass over the speed bump safely, and decreasing or increasing the speed of the vehicle according to a calculated required acceleration value, by calculating the required acceleration value by considering the distance from the speed bump according to the calculated speed difference, when it is judged that the vehicle enters the speed bump area. |
