METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CHANNEL ESTIMATION IN MIMO-OFDM COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A wireless receiver is configured to execute a channel estimation method in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) network. The method comprises a process for determining an average channel measurement value for each of multiplexing layers related to the MIMO network by diffusing a vector of received samples reversely; a process for removing an inter-layer interface using the average channel measurement values for the layers and for obtaining a time-change measurement value for each of the layers; and a process for estimating the channel using a two-dimensional minimum mean squared error (2D MMSE) technology.
