The present invention relates to an elevator crime prevent system and a method thereof and comprises a camera for capturing the plane image of an elevator car by being installed at the ceiling of an elevator; a motion information processing unit for generating a motion descriptor by accumulating and classifying each optical flows along the location and direction of the flows after calculating the optical flows of each matrix cell after calculating by forming virtual matrixes by dividing the monitoring images captured by the camera into the same interval cells; and a control unit for determining the occurrence of a dangerous situation by comparing the motion descriptor with the stored reference descriptors in each situation. Therefore, the present invention improves the possibility of the dangerous situation in the elevator car by determining the occurrence of a crime situation according to the motion of passengers, by learning the motion of the passengers, by grasping the motion and location of the passengers, and by extracting the motion descriptor from the images captured by the camera installed at the ceiling of the elevator car. |
