1. An exhaust system for a lean burn internal combustion engine, the system comprising a particulate filter, a first NOx absorbent disposed upstream of the filter and a second NOx absorbent disposed downstream of the filter,
wherein the system further comprises a first fuel injector port for enriching an exhaust gas with a reductant upstream of the first NOx absorbent, and at least one of: (i) a second fuel injector port for enriching an exhaust gas with a reductant downstream of the first NOx absorbent and upstream of the filter; and (ii) a third fuel injector port for enriching an exhaust gas with a reductant downstream of the filter and upstream of the second NOx absorbent.
