<p>The present invention relates to an air conditioning apparatus and a control method thereof. The air conditioning apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an indoor unit operating in an air clean mode to filter pollutants contained in the indoor air flowing if an air clean signal is input, and operating in a temperature control mode to adjust the room temperature by cooling or heating the indoor air with a refrigerant gas if a temperature control signal is input; an outdoor unit compressing and phase converting the refrigerant gas used in the indoor unit to re-supply the gas to the indoor unit; and a control unit for determining whether the indoor unit and the outdoor unit are connected, and if the connection is detected, outputting the temperature control signal, or if the connection is not detected, outputting the air clean signal.</p> |
