A device and a method for enhancing a communication capacity in device-to-device communications are disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: determining a maximum allowable signal-to-interference ratio for securing a minimum communication capacity in a device-to-device communications system; setting an interference limited region on the basis of a terminal receiving signals among one pair of terminals performing device-to-device communications using the determined maximum allowable signal-to-interference ratio; and selecting at least one cellular terminal to share resources with the one pair of terminals performing the device-to-device communications in consideration of the interference limited region. According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent reduction of the communication capacity caused by interference when multiple cellular terminals and device-to-device communication terminals share the same resources, thereby increasing a communication system capacity.
