In an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method for transmitting a digital broadcast. The method for transmitting a digital broadcast comprises the following steps of: performing the multiplexing of video data, audio data, and an auxiliary data including an event information table (EIT) and a program map table (PMT) into MPEG-2 transport stream, wherein the EIT or PMT includes a caption descriptor including caption information, and the caption descriptor includes the caption information which indicates whether the caption data included in the video data is data providing a digital closed caption service according to electronic industry association (EIA)-708 or caption data providing an analog closed caption service; and modulating the multiplexed MPEG-2 transport stream into a broadcast signal and transmitting the modulated signal. |
