[Class 53] A combined gas vent and filling stopper for a dry accumulator comprises a funnel 17 having a threaded cylindrical portion 10 normally closed by a stopper 14 carrying a washer 16 which seats on an internal shoulder 15 formed on the funnel. The stopper is provided with an axial bore 19 which communicates with the atmosphere through radial openings 20 through which gases from the accumulator can escape. The upper end 21 of the stopper is of non-circular shape to facilitate manipulation of the stopper. The outer surface of the device is provided with ribs 18 or otherwise formed of non-circular shape to enable it to be keyed into the pitch 11 or other sealing material of the accumulator. |
