The present invention relates to a backlight unit having a wide viewing angle profile and a 3D image display device including same. The backlight unit according to the present invention includes a positive vertical viewing angle (θ=0); a front viewing angle range (0<θ<θ1) defined as a range between first angles (θ=θ1) in first and second directions from the positive vertical viewing angle; and a wide viewing angle range defined as a range between second angles (θ=θ2) in the first and second directions from the first angle, wherein the backlight emitted in the wide viewing angle range has a profile that the brightness thereof is larger than that of the backlight emitted in the front viewing angle range. |
