Disclosed is a device for generating an HDR image by using a single image. An exposure image generation unit generates an input image for an inputted single image and a plurality of exposure images having different brightness values. A detail estimation unit estimates a detail area to be synthesized by calculating a standard deviation with respect to each exposure image. An alpha matte generation unit generates a plurality of alpha mattes on the basis of an area having the maximum standard deviation value by comparing the estimated details. A result image generation unit generates one result image by synthesizing the generated alpha mattes. According to the present invention, unlike a human visual system (HVS), a digital device such as a camera has a narrow dynamic range and requires image improvement, so that the digital device generates a plurality of images having different exposures from one single image to fuse an image. |
