An integrated circuit (2) includes a transistor (26) having a regular switching speed which occurs in a regular operation of the transistor applying an electrical signal within a regular range. If the change of switching speed of the transistor is necessary, a speed adjustment circuit (12) applies an adjustment electrical signal which has adjustment characteristics out of the regular characteristic range to the corresponding transistor. As the adjustment electrical signal leads at least one change in physical characteristics of the transistor, the switching speed of the transistor is changed when the transistor restarts the modified regular operation. The adjustment electrical signal is a voltage (or a current) which is out of the regular range of the voltage applied to a gate of the transistor, reduces the switching speed by leading to an permanent increase of the threshold voltage of the transistor. Also, the temperature of the transistor can be adjusted to lead to the permanent change in performance/speed. |
