PURPOSE: A collision alarm system for a vehicle is provided to inform dangerous situation to a driver of a rear vehicle when quick braking of the vehicle is inevitably generated. CONSTITUTION: A collision alarm system for a vehicle comprises a relative distance detecting unit(110), a vehicle speed detecting unit(120), and an electronic control unit(130). The relative distance detecting unit detects relative distance between the vehicle and forward vehicle and between the vehicle and a vehicle ahead of the forward vehicle. The vehicle speed detecting unit detects driving speed of the vehicle. The electronic control unit calculates emergency signal distance according to the conduct of the forward vehicle and conduct of the vehicle in front of the forward vehicle. The relative distance between calculated emergency signal distance, the vehicle, and front vehicle are compared and performs the collision alarm system for the vehicle according to the comparison result.
