Disclosed are a device-to-device (D2D) based advertisement service system and a method thereof capable of providing an advertisement service through a D2D communication. The method of the present invention includes the steps of: generating an advertisement title and detailed advertisement content; broadcasting the generated advertisement title to another terminal; receiving a detailed advertisement content request message which corresponds to the advertisement title which is transmitted from a specific terminal; and obtaining the generated detailed advertisement content and transmitting the obtained detailed advertisement content to the specific terminal. Thereby the D2D-based advertisement service system has no need to separately produce and distribute a coupon or a leaflet for advertising to customers, has no need to upload an advertisement through internet, and enables customers to receive an advertisement without annoying processes.
