An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method for repairing the same are provided to cut a connection portion of a pixel electrode of each TFT(Thin Film Transistor), to cut a connection portion of two pixel electrodes with a pixel, and to connect each pixel electrode at the upper and lower pixels with the pixel electrode of the other pixel area. A first substrate and a second substrate are placed by facing each other. Each one has multiple pixel areas and the pixel areas have upper and lower sub-pixels. On the first substrate, gate lines are formed by passing through both upper pixel and lower pixel of each pixel area. Data lines are formed by crossing the gate lines. First and second TFTs(110,112) are located at the upper and lower portions of the cross section parts of the gate lines and the data lines and drive the upper and lower pixels. First and second pixel electrodes(120,122) are connected with the first and second TFTs and formed at the upper and lower pixels. A connection pattern(121) connects the first and second pixel electrodes within the same pixel area and is formed by the first and second pixel electrode integrally. A groove is formed at the gate line at the lower portion of the connection pattern. The first dummy pattern is overlapped with the upper pixel of the pixel area and the lower pixel of a pixel area of an adjacent pixel area. The second dummy pattern is overlapped with the lower pixel of the pixel area and the upper pixel of a pixel area of an adjacent pixel area. |
