The present invention relates to an use of a nucleic acid fraction derived from Orostachys japonicas having anti-inflammatory activity, and more particularly to a composition and a health functional food comprising a nucleic acid fraction of Orostachys japonicas as an active ingredient for preventing or treating (alleviating) inflammatory diseases. The nucleic acid fraction of Orostachys japonicas of the present invention has an effect of inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) generation through inhibition of iNOS expression. Also, the present invention inhibits NF-κB activation and reduces Akt phosphorylation by inhibiting transportation of NF-κB p65 from cytosol into nucleus and by inhibiting IκBαphosphorylation. Moreover, the present invention has an outstanding anti-inflammatory effect through a mechanism of repressing a cell surface expression of CD14 and TLR4 proteins, which are LPS receptors. Thus, the composition of the present invention comprising the nucleic acid fraction of Orostachys japonicas as an active ingredient can effectively inhibit inflammation to thereby being usefully applied to inflammation-associated diseases.
