The present invention relates to a method of controlling a hydraulic pump for construction machinery including a data collecting step (S10) of collecting a temperature value of cooling water and a temperature value of the working oil; a reference temperature comparing/determining step (S20) of comparing the temperature value of the cooling water and the temperature value of the working oil obtained in the data collecting step (S10) with reference temperature to stop the control if the temperature value is higher than the reference temperature and proceed to a next step if the temperature value is lower than the reference temperature; a control temperature selecting/determining step (S30) of determining whether any of the temperature value of the cooling water and the temperature value of the working oil is lower than the reference temperature if the temperature value of the cooling water and the temperature value of the working oil is lower than the reference temperature; a first control temperature setting step (S40) of setting the temperature value of the cooling water as a control temperature if the cooling water is colder; a second control temperature setting step (S42) of setting the temperature value of the working oil as a control temperature if the working oil is colder; a data loading step (S50) of loading data of controlling an angle of a swash plate of the hydraulic pump; and a control step (S60) of setting the maximum angle of the swash plate by substituting the control temperature set in the first and second control temperature setting steps (S40, S42) in a corresponding region of the data of controlling the angle of the swash plate of the hydraulic pump.
