The present invention relates to an air conditioner for a vehicle and, more particularly, to an air conditioner for a vehicle, in which a slack prevention part configured to guide a slack direction of an assembling surface of each of left and right cases in an opposite direction to the slack direction is formed to protrude from the assembling surface, and thus the assembling surface portion of each of the left and right cases is guided in the opposite direction to the slack direction when the left and right cases are assembled. As such, even when a weight of vehicle components is exerted on an assembled portion of the left and right cases, the assembling surface of each of the left and right cases can be prevented from slacking toward a mode door side, a gap between the mode door and an air conditioning case can be maintained, and also since the mode door can be operated with uniform operation feeling and operating force, an air discharging mode can be smoothly performed.
