The present invention relates to an air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle and a control method thereof, in which a set temperature memory unit for memorizing a set temperature before the vehicle is turned off or a set temperature selected by a user, and an air volume control mode switch are provided, to adjust the magnitude of air volume of a blower according to the set temperature of the set temperature memory unit by manipulation of the air volume control mode switch, thereby preventing large air volume from being discharged at an initial state of an auto-control mode. In the air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle, having an air conditioning control unit for automatically controlling the air condition to maintain the comfort inside the vehicle according to sensor values of various sensors, the air conditioning control unit (10) comprises a set temperature memory unit (30) which memorizes the set temperature and transmits the same to the air conditioning control unit (10); an auto-mode switch (40) which converts the air conditioning apparatus to the auto-control mode; and an air volume control mode switch (50) which selects a mode to limit the maximum level of the air volume of a blower (1) according to the set temperature stored in the set temperature memory unit (30), in the auto-control mode state by the operation of the auto-mode switch (40). |
