The tool (1) has a frame (5) whose proximal portion comprises grips or allowing handling of the tool and distal portion (5D) is provided opposite to a retaining seat (8) that accommodates a correction blade (10). The correction blade comprises a freely abrasive surface (11) for applying against a weld seam to be refinished. The abrasive surface is extended over width (W11) that is lesser than or equal to desired width of the weld seam and along length that is lesser than the width. The frame is arranged such that the frame is below of a gauge plane (Po) of the abrasive surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for manual refinishing of a weld seam.
