The present invention relates to a string binding apparatus for a waste paper compressor, including a waste paper receiving chamber that receives waste paper which is put in by waste paper charging means; a waste paper compression chamber that is disposed to extend in a compression direction of the waste paper receiving chamber, and compresses and accumulates the waste paper, which is moved by waste paper compressing means, once or more; one or more shuttle needles that are moved to reciprocate in a transverse direction with respect to the compression direction on a side wall of a boundary portion between the waste paper receiving chamber and the waste paper compression chamber with a binding string threaded with a tip portion; shuttle needle reciprocating means for reciprocating the shuttle needles at the same time; a string spool that successively supplies the binding string to the tip portion of the shuttle needles; and a string binder that is mounted on the side opposite to shuttle reciprocating means, and cuts and ties the binding string which is threaded with the tip portion of the shuttle needle. According to the present invention, the linearly reciprocating shuttle needle allows a simplified structure, a decreased possibility of malfunctioning, and an improved operation rate. Also, synthetic fiber and nylon strings can be used as a binding member, and thus an accident is prevented by the binding member during the handling of compressed waste paper. In addition, binding is not easily loosened, even in the event of any change in the volume of the compressed waste paper, because of the elasticity of the binding member. |
