The present invention discloses a skin whitening composition using a Xylosma congesta extract which has inhibitory activity on mushroom tyrosinase, and shows inhibitory activity on melanogenesis when being treated in B16F10 which is a melanoma cell stimulated by alpha-MSH, which is a melanocyte stimulator.
