The device has a branch including a controlled switch (11) i.e. transistor, and a luminous device (10) that are connected in series. Another branch includes another luminous device (20) that comprises characteristic voltage (Vf2) when the former luminous device is switched. A control device (40) produces a control signal of the switch in a closing level in which the former luminous device is switched and the latter luminous device is switched off, and an opening level in which the latter luminous device is switched on and the former luminous device is switched off. An independent claim is also included for a lighting block.
