The invention relates to a plant extract selected from the group consisting of the Arrabidaea genus of the Bignoniaceae family, the Balanitaceae family, the Monodora genus of the Annonaceae family, and the Calophyllum genus of the Clusiaceae family, to be used as an agent for the active control of the melanogenesis in preparing a composition for controlling melanogenesis.
