The present invention relates to a device for preventing an overcharge and an overdischarge of a battery. The objective of the present invention is to provide the device for preventing an overcharge and an overdischarge of a battery, which can prevent an overcharge and an overdischarge of a battery in a breakdown of a controller, etc. and be applied to various batteries including a pouch type battery regardless of battery specifications. To achieve the objective, the present invention provides the device for preventing an overcharge and an overdischarge of a battery, comprising: a current detector to detect a size of a current flowing through a high voltage circuit between a main battery and an electric load; and a short-circuit relay which is installed to open/close a circuit for connecting between both ends of a DC link of the high voltage circuit, is on-driven by an output of the current detector corresponding to the current size detected under the overcharge and overdischarge generation conditions, and closes the circuit, wherein a fuse is disconnected by a short-circuit current flowing along a route among the main battery, the fuse and the short-circuit relay when the short-circuit relay is on-driven. |
