Provided is an adhesive tape application device capable of fixing packaging paper to fit rectangular solid or cubical cargo by stably applying adhesive tape to a specified position of a package in which the cargo is wrapped with packaging paper. An adhesive tape application device having: an adhesive tape holder for rotatably holding an adhesive tape that has been wound in a roll; a reversing roller for reversing the adhesive tape supplied from the adhesive tape holder to turn the adhesive surface upward; grooved rollers for forming groove-shaped crevices on the adhesive tape that are continuous in the forward direction thereof; a rack for driving the grooved rollers by a one-way clutch; a plate-shaped pressing tool for pressing the adhesive tape on the lower surface of the package; a pressing spring for pressing the upper surface of the pressing tool tightly against the lower surface of the package; and a cutter for cutting the adhesive tape.
