PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for a semiconductor light-emitting element by which a cable can be attached to and detached from a cable insertion hole of the holder for a semiconductor light-emitting element with ease.SOLUTION: A holder for a semiconductor light-emitting element comprises: a case main body 20; an illumination opening 21 formed to the case main body; an anode side cable insertion hole 30A and a cathode side cable insertion hole 30B formed only on one cable connection surface consisting of a plane and into which and from which a cable 77 can be inserted and removed; an anode contact electrically conductive to an anode of the semiconductor light-emitting element and a cathode contact electrically conductive to a cathode of the semiconductor light-emitting element, that are supported by an insulation part of the case main body; and an anode side supporting part and a cathode side supporting part provided inside the case main body. Each of the anode contact and the cathode contact has an elastic deformation part 48, when a cable is inserted into each of the anode side cable insertion hole and the cathode side cable insertion hole, holding the cable between elastic deformation part 48 and each of the anode side supporting part and the cathode side supporting part while being elastically deformed in a direction separating from each of the anode side supporting part and the cathode side supporting part.
