PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detection apparatus that can adjust the reflectance in a reflector on the basis of the counting rate of an event.SOLUTION: A radiation detection apparatus includes: a rate counter that estimates the counting rate of an event that is detected by a radiation detector, on the basis of an output signal from the radiation detector; and a control unit that generates a reflectance control signal for adjusting the reflectance of a reflector of the radiation detector on the basis of the estimated counting rate so as to optimize the energy resolution of the radiation detector, and outputs the reflectance control signal to the reflector.
