When a sensor node (101-y) has determined that it is unable to complete execution of data processing requested by a sensor node (101-x), the node selects a sensor node (101) that is located away from a receiver (102) according to hop-number-based information stored in a storage device. The sensor node (101-y) transmits a request notification to the selected sensor node (101) so as to request execution of data processing other than the partial data processing that the sensor node can execute by itself. Upon receiving a securement completion notification indicating that the data processing indicated by the transmitted request notification can be completed by at least one of the sensor nodes (101) among the multiple sensor nodes (101), the sensor node (101-y) begins execution of the partial data processing that the sensor node can execute by itself.
