The brake has a brake application device (3), brake shoes (11, 12) and an automatic adjustment device (7) that includes a swingable adjustment lever (26) connected with a position nose (34) and an adjustment wheel (21) i.e. gear wheel. A rear driving mechanism (6) reduces a braking action with reverse movement and comprises a swivel cam (15). A movable plunger (20) is axially connected with the adjustment wheel, where engagement length of the position nose at the adjustment wheel is shorter than ram stroke with reverse movement. An independent claim is also included for a brake shoe.
