PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of fatty acid alkyl ester, by efficient transesterification between alcohol and a complex lipid such as phospholipid and glycolipid.SOLUTION: The mixture of a complex lipid and alcohol is irradiated with microwaves under presence of a solid catalyst having microwave absorption properties for a transesterification reaction to produce a fatty acid alkyl ester.
