<p>The method involves detecting (100, 110) image information with respective focal distances of a camera. The detected image information with the different focal distances of a camera is evaluated (120) by a difference of image pixels of the image information. A depth of field is associated to each focal distance. An overlapping of depth of field regions is adjusted by a focal distance control. An occupied area of an object and/or a remote area of the object to the camera is determined by overlapping of the depth of field regions. The object is recognized (130) based on the evaluation. An independent claim is also included for a device for object recognition in a vehicle.</p> |
