PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting whether the airtightness of a machine tool window part is excellently maintained.SOLUTION: An airtight state detection device 1 includes: a pressure sensor 22 for detecting pressure in the space of a window part 5; and a determination unit 23 for determining propriety of an airtight state in the space on the basis of the pressure value detected by the pressure sensor 22 to output the determined result to the outside. The airtight state detection device 1 detects a pressure in the space of the window part 5 set to a pressurized or pressure-reduced state as an initial state by the pressure sensor 22 at any time or periodically. The determination unit 23 determines propriety of the airtight state of the window part 5 from a fluctuation state etc., of the detected pressure. |
