The present invention relates to a biosensor based on a liquid crystal for detecting a microorganism, characterized by comprising: (a) a substrate; (b) and a liquid crystal doped with a functional compound, wherein the functional compound is chemically modified by an enzyme or a metabolite of a detection target microorganism, and the orientation and the optical appearance of the doped liquid crystal are changed by the chemical modification of the functional compound. A biosensor of the present invention can examine whether a specific microorganism or enzyme exists or not in real time with the naked eye using the liquid crystal doped with a functional compound. According to the present invention, whether a detection target within a sample exsits or not can be quickly and easily known by only observing an image of the liquid crystal of a chemical/biochemical reaction occured at an interface through optical changes caused by high sensitivity and fast orientation reaction. |
