摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR system capable of contributing to early warming-up.SOLUTION: An exhaust manifold 2 and an exhaust emission control device 5 connected thereto are covered from their front sides with a metal-plate insulator 15. The exhaust manifold 2 includes a plurality of branch pipes 3 corresponding to cylinders, and a collection pipe 4 with which the branch pipes 3 are communicated. The upper end of the exhaust emission control device 5 is connected to the lower end of the collection pipe 4. An EGR passage 10 is connected to the lower end of the exhaust emission control device 5, and a water-cooled EGR cooler 11 is provided in the EGR passage 10. The EGR cooler 11 is not practically covered with the insulator 15, whereas the exhaust manifold 2 and the exhaust emission control device 5 are covered with the insulator 15. The EGR cooler 11 efficiently receives heat from the exhaust emission control device 5 to increase the temperature of cooling water, so that EGR system can contribute to shortening a warming-up time.
