Method: The invention relates to a method for producing a moulded part, more particularly a plate-shaped moulded part, from a composite material, in which said composite material is produced in a first step by mixing together metal chips and sodium silicate as primary components in a predetermined mixing ratio, the composite material is introduced into a mould in a second step, and compressed in a third step.
