The device has a rectangular covering contour comprising a side surface that extends parallel to a longitudinal center plane, and another side surface that extends perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane. A reef element comprises a corner surface (32) for fastening of a corner region of the covering contour. A reefing roller (38) is arranged in a region of the former side surface and controllably drivable around a roller shaft (42) that is arranged perpendicular to the latter side surface. A mating surface (30) is attached to the reefing roller. An independent claim is also included for a reef element.
