The cell terminal (1) has main portion that is connected with an electrode of a battery cell (2) so that the cell terminal protrudes with a free end (3) from a battery cell surrounding a cell case (4). A recess (5) is provided with a base (6) at free end, is continuous to one side of the cell terminal and is widened to the base in a section (7) of the recess. The recess is provided in the form of T-groove or a dovetail slot. The free end of the cell terminal has a planar surface (8) which is defined by the recess. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a battery cell; and (2) a battery.
