PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a display control unit and a display control method for a meter panel with a movable mechanism" that can display information of the meter panel in an easy-to-understand state even when the movable mechanism becomes unable to operate during movement of a decorative member.SOLUTION: A display control unit includes: an abnormality detection pat 25 which detects an abnormal stop of a movable mechanism physically moving a decorative ring 12 in front of a liquid crystal display 11; a non-overlap display position detection part 27 which detects a non-overlap display position as a display position on the liquid crystal display 11 which does not overlap with the decorative ring 12 from a stop position of the decorative ring 12 when abnormality occurrence to the movable mechanism is detected; and a display control part 24 which displays information at the non-overlap display position. Even when the movable mechanism becomes unable to operate during movement of the decorative ring 12, the information of a meter panel is displayed at a position on the liquid crystal display 11 which does not overlap with the decorative ring 12 having stopped at an unexpected position. |
