PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrester that has improved mechanical strength by relaxing a stress generated in FRP when an external load is applied.SOLUTION: The arrester provided includes: a stacked internal element 2; a pair of electrodes 1 arranged oppositely in the direction of stacking of the internal element 2; a plurality of FRP rods 3 arranged around the internal element 2, each shaped into a flat plate extending in the direction of stacking which has in a dumbbell fashion protrusion portions 3a increasing in width axially from a middle side to an end side at a constant inclination angle up to a constant width, and fixed with the protrusion portions 3a fitted in electrode grooves 1a provided in the electrodes 1, respectively; and an outer coat 6 of a polymer material integrally covering at least the internal element 2, the electrodes 1, and the insulating rods 3. |
