PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of detecting an ink ribbon without hampering attachment/detachment of an ink ribbon cassette.SOLUTION: In a printing device comprising: a detachable ink ribbon cassette in which an ink ribbon is stored; and detection means for detecting a marker of the ink ribbon, the ink ribbon cassette includes an opening for the detection means to detect the marker of the ink ribbon stored in the ink ribbon cassette, the ink ribbon cassette is detachable from the printing device, the detection means moves in a direction retreating from the ink ribbon cassette by causing a part of the detection means to abut on the ink ribbon cassette when the ink ribbon cassette is attached to the printing device, and a part of the detection means enters the opening if the ink ribbon cassette is attached to the printing device. |
