1. A soluble, multi-ligand-substituted metal compound of the following structure: wherein n is about 1 to about 20, R1 is independently selected from a group consisting of C1-C6 unsubstituted alkyl, C1-C6 substituted alkyl and R2, R2 is independently selected from a group consisting of unsubstituted aromatic, substituted aromatic, unsubstituted heteroaromatic, substituted heteroaromatic group, C6-C20 unsubstituted alkyl, C6-C20 substituted alkyl, C6-C20 unsubstituted alkenyl, C6-C20 substituted alkenyl group, a —COR3 group, a —N(R3)2 group, —SO2R3 group, a —SOR3 group and a —SR3 group, wherein each R3 is independently selected from a group consisting of unsubstituted aromatic, substituted aromatic, unsubstituted heteroaromatic, substituted heteroaromatic group, C1-C20 unsubstituted alkyl, C1-C20 substituted alkyl, C1-C20 unsubstituted alkenyl, C1-C20 substituted alkenyl group, functionalized alkylene with a structure of -alkylene-COOR3′, wherein R3′ is independently selected from a group consisting of C1-C6 substituted alkyl and C1-C6 substituted alkyl.
