The generation unit is configured to generate attribute information of OSD information which is displayed with the OSD information overlapped with an image, the attribute information including at least information relating to a display position and a display size of the OSD information. The transmission unit is configured to transmit the attribute information to an output apparatus that obtains display data to be used to display the OSD information corresponding to a resolution of a display unit thereof and causes the OSD information to be displayed on a position on the display unit specified by the information relating to the display position in a size specified by the information relating to the display size on the basis of the display data.
