PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent accuracy of detecting a white line position from being reduced due to influence of weather.SOLUTION: A position detection apparatus includes: an emitting device which emits a light beam repeatedly, while changing an emission elevation angle in a predetermined elevation angle range; a detection device which detects reflection intensity with respect to the light beam emitted from the emitting device; storing means 42 which stores a plurality of times a set of detection values obtained by one scanning operation out of the detection values detected by the detection device, as scanning data; synthesizing means 43 which acquires history of detection values for each emission elevation angle from multiple pieces of scanning data stored in the storing means 42, and generates a synthesis value of reflection intensities for each emission elevation angle on the basis of the history; and position calculation means 44 which calculates a position of a white line (object) on the basis of the synthesis value for each emission elevation angle generated by the synthesizing means.
