PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase change ink improved in scratch resistance and fold resistance compared to the prior art while preserving desired characteristics of phase change ink, particularly while preserving desired characteristics of pigmented solid inks, including Newtonian rheology, good filtration properties, thermal stability, and ink jetting robustness.SOLUTION: A phase change ink composition comprises a wax, an optional colorant, and a modified polysaccharide salt, particularly a modified carboxymethylcellulose, so that the phase change ink is excellent in scratch resistance and fold resistance while preserving characteristics of pigmented solid inks, including Newtonian rheology, good filtration properties, thermal stability, and ink jetting robustness. |
