<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target detection device which can detect a target existing in the periphery of a stopping vehicle, with a high probability even in the case of the existence of a stopping vehicle.SOLUTION: The target detection device includes first target detection means 3 which transmits and receives a radar wave to detect targets reflecting it, selection means 7 which selects a target meeting a prescribed condition among from the targets detected by the first target detection means, and output means 7 which outputs information of the target selected by the selection means. If a stopping vehicle 105 is detected and a target existing on a farther side 107 of the stopping vehicle when viewed from a vehicle 103 is detected, the selection means makes the prescribed condition easier for the target on the farther side, out of the targets detected by the first target detection means, than for the other targets or unconditionally selects the target on the father side.</p> |
